COVID-19 and the Environment

In his presentation, Dr. Wennberg gave some really helpful insight into climate change and the current path the world is heading down right now. He put out a global goal of hitting net-zero carbon emissions which would effectively stop rapid climate change, and part of the steps he gave to get there included some of the coming technologies in development that I found really amazing. Another part I quite admired in Dr. Wennberg's presentation was that he clearly communicated the severity of this issue at hand, but kept a very hopeful, optimistic tone throughout his presentation, which I think did well to help others including myself believe that as a whole we can confront the problem of climate change. Finally, prior to this, I had been under the impression that one positive that could be drawn from this pandemic is that it would be hugely beneficial towards preventing climate change, but in actuality, it's rather minuscule in comparison to the long history of speeding up global warming before it, which to me seemed like a reason to now more than ever bring the issue to the forefront of global debates and force global action to prevent it.
